About the Project
HopBeat is a celebration of local community.
HOP refers to the hopscotch visuals. Versions of the game are played in many cultures; the forms and names vary but the principle is the same. HopBeat features ten unique visual forms inspired by international configurations of the game. The color palette is inspired by the South Florida land- scape.
BEAT refers to the audio selections provided by local musicians who reflect the wide range of creative talent residing in Broward County. The music encourages viewers to move with the beat, discover the songs that resonate with them, and support the musicians.
Children and adults, alone or in groups, can feel the beat and be inspired to move. Each pattern begins on gold and ends on magenta.
The project is located in the north eastern quadrant of the park
The Hollywood ArtsPark is located at US-1 and Hollywood Boulevard. Limited parking is available onsite. 3-hour free parking is available in the lot just east of the circle. Metered street parking is availble in the area. Two parking garages are a short walk from the park.
